Her knowledge of the stars and planetary interactions has piqued the interest of creatives and leaders young and old. Through her online school, more than four thousand people have studied deb Silverman's astrology method to uncover their emotional wisdom and answer the call to help planet Earth. Deb is also the author of The Missing Element, inspiring compassion for the human condition. I, of course am a huge astrology buff. I couldn't wait to get an internationally renowned astrologer onto the podcast. So I hope you enjoyed this conversation with Deb Deborah Silverman, Welcome to the Crappy to Happy podcast.
47 Crappy to Happy. I love the needs. It's a good one. It's a good one. Deb. I was saying to you off air that when I saw your bio and saw that you're a psychotherapist to who is also an astrologer, and that you combine these two things, I was really interested. I myself am a psychologist, and I have been fascinated by astrology for the longest time. I'd love to know how you first became interested in astrology and what led you to pairing these things, psychology and astrology. It's funny the full moon. Every full moon, I write a newsletter, and the newsletter was the story of how I found astrology. I was ten years old in the Detroit News and I went through the cartoon section as only a ten year old could do, saw the word astrology lit up like a Christmas tree rode away from my chart, and then that started my fascination. Then fast forward, I had my first reading when I was eighteen, and she completely nailed it. I was a professional dancer all through I became very successful as a dancer through my high school and through university. I went to university and studied it and she named it. Char went you're a dancer.
50 I was like what, and then yes. And then the next entrance was me having another reading, which I don't usually tell this part of the story, when I was in Toronto and the guy said, are you going to live in Toronto when you grow up? And I was like, I don't know, and he said, because you're going to be very successful as an astrologer. He was an astrologer and he was already feeling the competition. I was like, well, I don't know. The truth was yes, I became a very successful strateger. So he wasn't like some people tell the story of being confused and they don't know what they wanted to do with their life. I have a feeling you were similar to me that it was just so obvious as a therapist, as a healer, so I began my fascination with astrology, went to graduate school for clinical psychology and insisted to study the charts of the chronic mental patients that I was working with. So my supervisor was like, you're going to do what? Well, that makes no sense, but I insisted and she let me do it, and very quickly I saw there was this huge correlation between mental illness and a couple of configurations and never stopped. So fast forward. Now I'm in my late sixties and so that was wow, God, that was like fifty five sixty years when. Yeah, so I've been doing it for a long time. Yeah, and it's never left my interest. Now there's a lot of people listening to this who don't have that story. They can't figure out what they want to do. And that's why they call an astrologer, because when the astrologer's job is to discern your skill set. And so if I look at your chart, for example, you have a lot of error in your chart, and air is the element of communicating.
19 You have an excessive amount of air in your chart, and that describes someone who loves to ask questions. Yes, there you go, ding ding ding. So it's your fascination that came naturally in your chart, that drives you to your career. The people that don't know what they want to be when they grow up, or they can't find their calling, that's a great reason to call an astrologer. See. I think this is really a really important point to make because so many people really still think of astrology as those little horoscopes in the paper, and they say, oh, that they can apply to everybody. It's just made up, and but it's so much more than that is. And it is so much deeper and more complex than that of course.
01 And Carl Jung do you know this. Carl Jung was an astrologer. Yeah, people don't know that. And he was quoted to say psychology will be a dinosaur science until it includes astrology. Wow. I'm hearing more and more now. I don't know if it's just because it's on my right end now, but I'm hearing more and more about this combination of psychology and astrology. And I'll be tell you what. I'm putting both hands up on the ESA. I'm thinking of studying astrology this year. Well, we have a school, I know, you do. I know it's only twice a year. So the tiny would be amazing if you wanted to come, and we have a podcast special rate, but you are certainly welcome, and we have a lot of therapists that come and do it because it complements your practice in a very shorthanded way. Someone comes in with a presenting issue, they feel very insecure, they can't find their self esteem. I look at the chat and I go, well, excuse me.
51 Every Taurus suffers from self esteem and let me explain it to you. And they go, well, why do I feel so much better? So it's that easy. Like you're an aquarian, you have sessive appetite for learning. You can't stop yet. So when someone comes in and they're confused because they have too much air and they're called an airhead, and I name it before they even start talking, there's relief. Yeah, and that's what I was going to ask you. So how can a chat help in therapy or help them to better understand themselves? Because even beyond just oh, I'm an aquarium so I have a lot of air, Like what other things can people learn about themselves from an astrology child that is helpful? They can learn about what the timing is of their life, like oh, my god, I feel like I want to move.
34 Oh my god, I feel like I want to get divorced. Oh my god, I feel like I want to change my relationship with my eating. These things are revealed very clearly in the chart when those cycles come and it's comforting again. It's not like in the end I say to you you're a high level communicator and you go, oh my god, and you have insatiable appetite for curiosity and you nod your head. It's not a new information system. It's just confirmation you're right. That then lets the person go, oh, well, I wish my mom would have told me that, because I've been struggling with thinking I'm too much of an ear had or I think too much, or I'm too confused all the time. Those people get relief. There's so many categories. There's four elements. So there's people that are depressed.
16 For example, those are the water people in the world. They have a real sensitivity and they feel depressed or sad or emotional or reactive. When someone walks into the room before they didn't say anything, they get a feeling, and that's confusing if you've never been explained that yes, your depression your sensitivity comes with your package. And here's the high road and here's the low road. Or people like us who are heir who talk all the time. Then there's the earth people who are super workaholics. They wouldn't be listening to this podcast. They have practicality as their primary focus, and they complain because they're working all the time, and then we explain to them it's okay. And then there's the fire personality who's really loud and really excited and really enthusiastic, and they get in trouble because they stick their foot in their mouth. That's an American saying for uh oh, did you just say that out loud? Use your inside voice outside?
04 Yeah, we have that in Australia, toy. And you need permission to understand. That's not going away. That's your personality. And by the way, it's going to get bigger and bigger as the years go by. We get better or worse depending on how you see it. This is what I'm really into, you know, it's people having a deepest self understanding so that they can cultivate more but that self acceptance and self compassion instead of constantly feeling that feeling like that too much of this or not enough of that, or trying to fix on moldo shape themselves to be something that they're just not and never going to be exactly. And that is the essence of why Carl Jung said psychology doesn't operate with the insights that astrology brings. It gives explanations that are so consistent, and every single session I do, the person goes, how did you know me so? Well?
51 I don't know tell you the truth how the system works, I can't answer it, but I can certainly tell you it never ever fails. I had my chot read in my early thirties, and I'd been interested in astrology because I'm an aquarian and we always are. But I started reading these really in depth monthly horoscopes out of curiosity and a bit of fun. But month after month after month, they were just so they were generically, you know, they were just based on all aquariums, but there was so they just kept like ticking the boxes. Everything was accurate every month, and it actually really helped me by reading those forecasts every month to begin to understand things like different roles of different planets and different houses.
37 All of that stuff, which is a part of astrology. I don't know that we've got the time to go into all of that on this episode, but I'm sure people would be interested. But so that was what. Led me to have a reading, like a birth chart reading done. And I had a similar experience where this woman said to me, I had just started my own business and she said to me, oh, your success will come much later in life. When I was like, how much later? I was about thirty at the time, and you know I would be speaking to a lot of people. She said that was coming. But she also said to me she described. My home environment as a child and actually said, it looks like you might have gone to live with your grandmother for a period of time. Ah, what how do you know that from my birth chart?
20 And that's my question, Deborah, how does an astrologer know something like that? Looks like you probably went and lived with your grandmother for a period of time when you were a child. Yes, in fact I. Did, because you have Aquarius in the fourth house. Now that's an intuitive statement, that's astrology, but that doesn't mean that there's not information that comes through where I can Yes, So the answer is how do we do that. There's a technology and I teach it in very simple baby steps. I don't appreciate when things get complicated. Yeah, and they start talking about jargon and the language takes you away. That's why I have a book called The Missing Element, and I simplify it in the book. First you take a little test the missing element of water, air, earth, and fire. Doesn't matter what sign you are, doesn't matter if you believe in astrology. You just and then once that book starts to speak to you, you're like, wait a minute, how'd that just happen? So there's a way to enter this conversation that's basic, Like you are so much air and so am I, so we can't stop talking.
20 And that's what she pointed at. In the future, you will be a communicator that will give people permission to be their unique stelf. You were like, well, that's exactly. So the answer your question is the chart does describe. And then there's really good astrologers that can determine your grandmother. That's not usual, right, Okay, so that was a bit out of the ordinary. That's not just offerating my nidle planets, my nidal chot. That's right. Good to know. Don't want to raise people's expectations when I go off from here and have that chart read. Debra, you talked to me more about life cycles, and I'm curious to understand and for listeners, I guess to get a sense of how astrology can help people to navigate decisions that they need to make and just difficult periods through life, Like how can an understanding of astrology support people.
11 That's so funny because you're in one right now. You're literally this next two months in a big change. Wow, can you feel it? Well, I've just had a pretty big change in the last six months. To be honest, I'm not sure how much more change. Again, Yes, that's what I'm talking about. So whatever's got started six months ago now is consolidating and finishing. Yes, So there's a good example. There are seven year cycles are and this is in level one, the very first class. It's the very first group of classes. It's the last class, and we talk about timing and yes, astrology does describe cycles. So everybody at twenty eight to thirty, there's nobody that didn't go through a change. So let's just look at your chart. So you were born. We're not going to tell everybody what year you were born.
57 I think they do. I've talked about it a lot. I had my fifty fast bath day. So two thousand and one, two thousand and two should have been a big turning point. What happened. I got married and my husband and I moved into state. Just I left my carea, I left my home, I left everything kind I. Just made my point. So when you see the seven year cycles and you name, you're like, you're in one right now every seven years you just changed homes again. This is universal. But if you know it's coming, like it's happening to me right now as I sit here my seven year cycles? Just do you think I would have prepared for this? But it's just so funny because it just hit me over the head today, like, oh, there's a big change coming. You think I would have prepared it. As an astrologer, I would have seen it coming, But it's not like that. It comes no matter whether you know it or not, you cannot prepare for those changes.
45 They come and they ask you to please do this now, and you rearrange things and then you surrender to life and you trust. And that's exactly the moment I'm in as we sit and so are you. I think that is something that is probably and helpful to me over the years too. Is that understanding that this is a period of time, and I think we all know that anyway, I don't know for me personally, having that sense that there's. Something going on in the planets at the moment and. That this will pass, so that you don't feel so beaten down by tough times, difficult times. You can have a sense that there's something coming on the other side of. It, exactly right. There's a lot of the Stralgers out there in the world who talk jargon in our school, in my system, and I have certified astrologers that I've trained who are on my website. I promise, I like, I say to them, you've got to make a deal with me that you won't talk jargon and you'll speak English to the person. You won't be seeing the suns and the seventh house oppos and C in the seventh in the first house, and you've got it in conjunct.
46 But don't say that, I teach them, don't do. It's like going to a doctor's appointment and they start saying you've got some kind of spinner corner, tiny titus and you're like, am I get a load of well in astrology, I speak English, and I make it the cycles very obvious, and here's that you're that you're going through, and here's the lesson you're supposed to be learning. It's such a comfort. Yeah. I think that's important too, because for a beginner, for somebody who isn't familiar with all of. That language, then that would be very off putting and very overwhelming. Exactly, and you leave feeling worse and when you. Came in yeah, yeah, and then it just I think it reinforces the idea that this is all just mumbo jumbo and it doesn't make any sense. It's all just like this new age you know, rubbish. Yes, when you put it in practical, real life terms about how this applies to you and your life.
33 Yes, just getting a message. You know you have Lee. I don't know if you know this. You have lib rising? Did you know that? Can I tell you a story about that? Anybody interested in astrology? Will this is astrology speak here. I spent most of my life believing I was Virgo rising because there's no daylight savings in where I live. But those charts online automatically adjust for daylight savings because of the time of year that I was born. And it was very recently a good friend of mine who actually is a copywriter, and she retrained as an astrologer and she did my chart for me and said, you're liberalising and I said, no Virgo and she said, okas there's no daylight savings. And I said, well, now I'm having an identity classis because I've always told people I'm an Aquarius with a Virgo rising and a Virgo moon, and I've got all this burger.
28 I don't know what to do with Libra. Maybe you can help me, Debraah, what does that mean? The best interviewers you look like Libra. They're so sweet, they're so kind, they love relationship, they are really witty. It's not Virgal. You're definitely librerising, just me as the professional looking at you. You classical. They love colors, they love shine, they love Virgo is much more dull, not in a bad way, but they're an Earth sign, so everything's more dull. Moll you and you have colors. They can tell, don't you love color? Yes? Yes, that's Weday and the rising sign is the soul as distinct from the ego. People don't ever understand why did they call it? They gave it two names, not one.
09 It's called the ascendant and it's called the rising sign. Why because we're supposed to be moving into it. So it's very important to know your rising sign and to rise into it for you means to really be interested in people. So librising is like nosy, I have it too, nosy fascination, wanting to ask a million questions, really being interested in other people and how they get along. Psychology, that's not Virgo. Virgo's the hermit. Interesting. Interesting, Yeah, So the rising sign is the soul, the sun sign is your ego, and the moon is your emotional body. And so do not let go of your liver rising. It's going to give you the greatest pleasure. It's a fun one. I'm glad to hear that. Yeah, I was never happy with that vig. I think I thought, oh no, no, I don't think that's me. They aren't that a little bit kind of uptid.
54 And I have a really good friend. I have a really good friend who thought she was Virgo rising, and she'sed to always say my Virgo's broken. And she found out her real birth time and she was Libra and so she was so relieved. So it can be off. So for people listening who don't know that actual birth time like that, because that's one hour difference. For me, that makes that that much of a difference. That's right, one hour. It changes every two and a half hours, but depending what time you were born, So yes, that made a big difference. Yeah, so I guess just for people listening who are thinking, this is not making any sense to me, everybody sort of knows that what they call their star sign, which is really the sun sign, where was. The sign at the moment of your birth, what constellation was it in, Where was the mod at the moment of your birth? What was the constellation on the horizon and the eastern horizon at your moment of birth? And that's how we established those three pillars.
45 And what do those like you just said before, one's your ego, one's what you're moving into us. Just wondering if you could just explain that a little more for people listening, like, what is the relevance of understanding this is my sun's sign, this is my rising sun, this is my moon sign. If it's your sun's sign, we can't live without the sun. Let's start there. So right now I'm sitting, I'm feeling the heat of the sun, and I am so in love with the sun. It is the essence of your life force. It is what motivates this whole planet to aim up at the sun. It is the single most influential character in this entire dream we're in. Is the sun up, is the sundown? Is it warm as a cold? Are we going to have a week end or a weekday? It tells us everything. So that's the personality. Then the moon's in the night time. We're sleeping, our eyes are closed, we're in the dream state. We can't remember our dreams.
34 We don't even know what we're doing when we're sleeping. I think it's so funny that we spend eight hours of day lying like just lying there. But that is the moon energy. The moon is the internal, unconscious, nonverbal, instinctual, unconscious part of us. So when you become aware of where your moon is, it describes your emotional inner world the dark. And then the rising sign based on the moment of your birth, is a very specific indicator of what you're rising and and now don't ask me how it works or why it works, but I can just tell you those three things. When you understand their partnership of how they get along or don't, we'll explain your character to you. I hope that you're enjoying this conversation and realizing the benefits of positivity in your own life. If you are enjoying the show, please be sure to like and subscribe so that you get notified when you EPs drop and head on over to Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen.
28 And leave us a rating and review. Before Debra, you touched on the elements, the four elements earth, wind, water, fire. Right, that's the four of them? Is that right? What are they? Earth? Air, earth? Why are you laughing? It just wind? I've never anybody say that, but there was so aquarian earth, wind, error, and fire. First of all, you're so funny. It goes in this order. That was so aqueering, and please don't take that out of this interview because that was the cutest thing ever. So it goes in this order. And by the way, you have no water in your chart, so no wonder you left it out. So let me describe. Wow, So the four elements in the natural rhythm always starts with water. Why we spend nine months in water. The entire part of creation begins through an unconscious doorway where you are being imprinted by the DNA that was set in place by your karma, your mom, your dad, your body type, what you're going to look like. All of that's invisible. It's a mystery. It's water. It's in the dark.
38 We can't figure it out. Now you take your first breath of air. And now you come into the next eighteen years of your life studying. What's my name? How do I spell? What school do I go to? How do I get places to? That's all? Tell me how this planet works, said the little air sign. That's you and me. We always ask questions, a little kid in the classroom raising their hand. Then from let's say twenty five, after you finish university, from twenty five to fifty five, you work. That's the earth cycle. What am I going to do for this life? How do I make money? Am I going to have children? Will I get married? The whole era, that's why they call this planet earth. It should be called water. It's blue. But we vailue Earth so much here, So that's the next and then the very end of the life is fire. Where you go, oh, and I'm headed net direction towards seventy. Then it's like, oh, now I can have some fun. That's a fire cycle.
25 So if you think about waking up in the morning, the first thing you do is you go to the bathroom, brush your teeth, wash your face, you have a coffee, cup of tea. It's water. Then the next part of your day you're like, where's my list? Who do I need to get in this crazy thing with? How do I communicate? What's the podcast I'm gonna listen to today? Then you get to the Earth, I can go up, Oh, what was my work? Where's my list of things to check off? What's for dinner tonight? Where are the kids? How do I get to them? And then the very end of the day is let's have some fire water, put the fire on, sit around the table, tell stories, let's fire it up. Maybe we'll make love tonight. So water is the entry of everything. It's the quiet internal dark side of the human psyche. Air is the da da da da da da. What we're doing? Talk talk talk talk talk. Then Earth is let's get some shit done. Okay, why are we here? We gotta make money. We got to ground this thing and then fire is uh, oh, this has just gone wrong. I'm firing it. I want to start the day all over. I want to turn the music up. I want to have a drink.
25 Yeah. Interesting, Yeah, it's fat. I've never thought about it like that. Obviously, that that makes perfect sense. It's so old, it's ancient. It's the unbelievable esoterical low. It's in my book, the four Element. It's called the Missing Element my book. But it is all about figuring out in the Tourou deck, the Magician card. The first card of the Turow deck is the fool, like are you crazy for coming here? Like? What were you thinking? So that's the zero card, and the very first card is the Magician and he has sitting on his table four elements. Water error is five. If you look at the the Turo deck, and this is the story of evolution according to the Beautiful to Rod deck. I love it. So there's the four elements at the very entrance of coming on to planet Earth. The question is have I mastered water, Air, Earth, and fire.
08 M I read tarant carts as well. This little hobby on the side. Yeah, so I see all of those overlaps with the four elements. I'm curious, Deborah, beyond you know how it all, interested in how this relates to me and my personality and my compatibility and my life. You have talked about the issue of the state of the planet and the climate crisis, and how understanding astrology can give us hope in a time that feels pretty desperate. Can you talk about that. I had a friend for the last month, a PhD in geology, staying with me, and she gave me all the information. One who knew this. There's been seventeen ice ages before. Why don't we know that? So we go in cycles. Everything goes in cycles, up and do up and down, up and down. We are warming up, we are getting ready to change the species. We're getting ready to change everything. The whole human condition as we know it cannot survive what we're doing as consumers now. Is it anyone's fault? No, Can you do anything about it?
15 Of course you can look at your own lifestyle and see, like I don't get in a car. I bike ride everywhere. So I made a commitment that I was going to reduce the caraban. But most people can't figure out what they can do, and so they put it away because it's too hard to tolerate the thought. I believe that when you face the music and stand face to face with what is, wisdom arrives what is wisdom? One half of it is really smart researcher collecting information, you and me researching, And the other side of wisdom is dumb whiz dumb. I don't know. I can't figure this place out, and the wise person knows to say. Something's changing. Everything evolves, nothing stays the same. Why would we be surprised if there's been seven teen ice ages that we're warming up now? Naturally?
03 Did eight billion people contribute to it? Yes? Do we have an off button? No? Are we going to be face to face with change? Yes? Do we like it? No? So the human diflemma is that the human psyche, our operating system, doesn't like what is happening now, but unfortunately we have a hard time talking about it. Yeah, I'm not feeling any more optimistic. Brother, there's not's not it. You shouldn't be. You shouldn't be. The question is how do ideal as a wisdom keeper, and that's what you are, how do I deal with being face to face with what is? That's the question who are the people that can stay steady and calm and trust and have faith and continue moving with the right action and being respectful while we know we're about to walk into a radical departure from our old reality.
55 It's I can't lie. I'm an astrologer. My job is to look into the future. But what I can say is is I help people emotional wisdom. I help them get to the place where they're like, meditate, be calm, have prayers, have faith. These are the only things we can do right now. I mean, you can figure out if you want to be vegan or if you want to start doing regenitive. There's a million things you can do. But the real truth is we are going into a change. Uh oh, yes, yes, yes, well yeah, I was hoping you're going to give me some profound, optimistic viewpoint that I was going to say no, and we'll come through and then it'll it'll be glorious and we'll change our ways and we'll rethink the way we relate to the earth.
39 I think that's what's going to happen, is it. But that's I would love for that, of course, but not until we go. It's just like saying when someone's been diagnosed in they're in hospice. How do you make that positive? Well, you say to them, if you study death, you'll find out it's a beautiful transition. And by the way, everyone that loves using the room. And this is an exercise seeing if you can be wise in a moment of life where everyone shies away and doesn't want to talk about it. So there is a beautiful ending to the story. We are definitely going to make a change in the human nature. We cannot continue consuming the way we do. We can so. Something God, life, spirit, angels, they're not not here, they're watching.
20 That's optimistic. I feel very hopeful about the miracles that we can't see that are coming. Yeah, that's a nice thought. You. I mean, you make a really good point though, just beyond astrology, just our human condition and our unwillingness to stay present and to come face to face with the reality. We would so much rather avoid it, put it under the carpet, pretend it's not happening, distract ourselves with something else. It's a hard thing to do in life. And it's so beautiful that you get your talking about it.
00 Because the hardest thing that I see on our planet is and this is a gift of podt Why do people love podcasts? One? We want to learn what do I need to understand? Help me stimulate my mind with the stars and focus so I have a larger point of view that celebrates there's a design. Einstein said it, so well, God's not playing with dice. This is not a random occurrence. But the human dimension, the human condition is a little funny, would you say to put it lightly psychologist of the psychotherapist, we're a little strange. Yes, Indeed, you've written a book, The Missing Element. You have an astrology coast fatigious.
44 Tell me more about that. You would love it. It's only it's only six weeks long. It's actually I don't know when this will err, but it starts in a couple of days and it is a six week long class. It's fite sized bits. You're in a room with just and people and you're studying your own chart. You're not studying theory. You're studying your own personal chart so you can figure out how to be yourself. Now you probably already know it. But back to the original conversation, Permission, permission to be yourself and comfort and expanding the timing and knowing how to prepare and being really honest with yourself. Yeah, that's interesting. And so you have a certification course to different do you have you found that there has been more I'm just curious about this. Has there been an increased interest.
34 Strategy is going increasing Instagram? There's a million astrologers. Yeah, well maybe that's what I said. Maybe I'm just noticing it more because I've been interested in astrology for a very long time. So I don't know that, but I am definitely noticing this overlap between psychology and astrology. Well you you and Carol Jung and it. Makes perfect sense, makes perfect sense to me. Yeah, well, it's just they're best friends. What is describing the nature of the high road of the human cond condition? That would be astrology and psychology is the nature of the low road of humans. What's wrong with you? Is all the psychologist asks, But the astrologery doesn't ask that. They say what's right with you?
15 See That's what I love about it. Anything that says what's right about you and stops focusing on we need to fix ourselves and change ourselves and be different. And you know, my favorite quote is be where the subtle aggression of self improvement. It's not my quote. I heard it from from We see it again, be where the subtle aggression of self improvement self improvement being an aggression against the self, an attack on the self because something is wrong with me. So I'm so interested in self improvement because I fundamentally believe that I need to be better or different before I can I see enough. Yes, well, you're singing my songs. Permission to be yourself. Everyone else is taken, And why don't we just relax into an acceptance that everybody's weird exactly, everybody's everybody's quirky, everybody has personality traits. They just can't stand about their husband, or about their kid, or about their mother. And then once you study, you go, oh my god, no, wonder he does it all the time.
14 That's a really interesting point that we haven't talked about. When I was reading you know your bio and preparing for this interview, I was thinking, you know what, I need to get my daughter's chot done. I need to and I need to get my husband's chot done. Yes, it's the most important thing you could do. And we have certified astrologers that what I do is what I call the matchmaking people write in, they send me the chart, and then I matchmake them with the perfect astrologer because there's different personality types. But the most important thing you could do is know your kids. Oh my goodness, if every parent let their kid be who they were. Mmmm. Can you imagine My daughter is just at the stage of finishing a high school, you know, and so it's just that point of like, oh and we've just moved overseas, so she's you know, away from all of her friends.
01 But it's just like what is she going to do with the life and where is she? You know? So I think there's she would love it. Teenagers, we have them in our school. That's so important that they'd be allowed to answer those really deep questions who am I? And that, like you said before, that understanding of cycles and this idea that this is a point in time and that this isn't I don't need to have all of the answers and the decisions and the I don't need to know everything right now. But there is a bigger picture, There is a grand plan almost of course. Yes, yes, it's completely true that the angels and the spirits and the influencers from the cosmos, and your invisible friends and your ancestors. They're watching us. I always imagine they're in the room.
46 Yeah that's a bit creepy. No, no, but it's really true. They're watching you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so too. I think so too in a non creepy way. So this whole idea that there is a grand plan according to astrology and the chat and the fact that we can see what stage you're at and where we're likely to be, and what's likely to be going on, and how much of life is predetermined, there's. Way less free will than you think. You chart your personality, the instincts, how you respond is absolutely controlled by your chart, the choice factor, the free will button, the awareness your observer, which is what my book is all about. Once your awareness is on, you can change anything just like that.
34 So the free will button is not to be underestimated. However, like your first husband, like the first kid, like the dog you got, like your parents, all those things are written in the stars. The question is are we going to stick in situations that aren't healthy? Are we going to take care of our bodies? Are we going to take care of us set our kids free and not hand them our burdens. Those are all free will choices. And I guess I think too that I find comforting and I guess important and beneficial is for me being self employed. I'm just thinking of day to day life like being self employed and always feeling like I need to be busy or doing something and being able. To go with whatever the energy is supportive of. Does that make sense?
19 So if this might not be a time for me to be out there and busy and pitching my books or pitching my podcast, maybe this is a time that I actually need to be retreating and being creative. Well, guess what, the last two years, this has been an invitation for you to be at home. It's a more introverted cycle. It will change in about nine months, so make a note that nine months yet, nine months from now, you will be in a much more external role. But you've been asked, and this is astrology want on one to go in to take care of your body, to do self care. How have you been doing that? I've been. I did yoga, teacher training, I gave up drinking point good job.
03 So those are the cycles that astrology describes inside outside. When are we going to start, When are we going to finish? When do things begin? All those things are right there in the start. Yeah, So having an understanding of that, I think can help us to stop pushing against what is just not working. I think that's what I would like listeners to take away that there's some real value in that in being able to when you have an understanding of what the planets are doing, and what the energy is doing, and what the season that you're in, and you can go with that, then you're much more likely to get done what needs to get done and keep your health and your energy and sanity. And so this is really important. There are eras, there are cycles, There is timing. It's described by astrology. When you follow the cosmic influence every day on Instagram, I have a video that comes out and it tells you where the moon is free and Debra Silverman astrology and you start to watch the rhythms of the moon and you'll be amazed, like today it's in Virgo, by the way, like it was when you were born. They love analyzing, so all day to day I've been doing numbers. You start to follow your rhythm according to the sky, and there's a real harmony that happens.
